8/20/12: Sailed off to Port Washington.Sailed by a fuel barge & gladly moved over. Past Execution Rock Lighthouse. Very mariner friendly town. Water taxi to town and nice boardwalk to shopping. Bought an additional sun shower, never want to be without that! So excited to go thru NYC tomorrow.

8/19/12: Left Port Jefferson past Old Field Point Light. We past Huntington Harbor light on our way to Huntington Harbor Yacht Club to grab a mooring for the night. Kathy took a taxi to town to get groceries & a wireless router for the boat. Found a great "Wild by Nature" store. The cabbie even said "forget about it" . Love New York!

8/18/12: Waiting until tomorrow for weather window to head further south in Long Island Sound. Used the time to try out some english muffin pizzas. Ended up being very yummy. Getting very creative with my sailboat cookery! I'm now on Page 367 of the "Count of Monte Cristo" only 876 pages to go. Very enjoyable read. Also enjoyed another beautiful sunset.

8/17/12: After arriving in the harbor around 6am we took a quick nap and anchored across from Mt. Misery. Lots of large mansions and pretty area that is well protected while we wait out a thunderstorm. Lots of ferry boat traffic but where we anchored we are not affected.

8/16/ 12: Left Coecles Harbor after shopping, laundry , swimming & hanging out with the Navigator crew (Chris & Kellee) we parted ways. They are headed to 3 mile harbor and going on the outside off shorearound Montauk. We are going inside and departed for Port Jeffersonwhich entailed a night sail. We were the only sailboat out for most of the trip. We even had the Coast Guard check on us and let us know they were standing by if we needed anything.....good to know! We love our Coasties!
