10/1/12: We are staying another night at the Visitor's Center due to weather. We went to the Dismal Swamp Museum , watched a video & walked the boardwalk thru the swamp and talked with a Ranger for awhile. They had a video on alot of the history of the canal which was very interesting. Utilizing the library services at the welcome center which is very nice. Very boater friendly here. Planning next stop to Elizabeth City when the weather clears.
